You can marry and be faithful to a neutral. But there’s nothing wrong with being flirtatious towards color.

- LaMar Lisman

LaMar Lisman has been involved in the Interior Design Industry for nearly three decades. A graduate of the University of Utah, his first brush with design started with his career as a Merchandise Manager for the fashion retailer Nordstrom. As part of a product development team, LaMar was able to explore endless possibilities of the design process.

Having always had a desire to open his own firm, LaMar eventually left Nordstrom to pursue and eventually establish Lisman Studio. He saw a viable business opportunity for a standalone design firm, not associated with an architectural firm, furniture store or dealership. By combining his strong retail and customer service background with his love for exceptional design; Lisman Studio was born. Opportunities soon opened up to include projects throughout the United States, Hawaii and Mexico.

LaMar is a sought after writer and public speaker, frequently focusing on design and color trends in the industry. He and Lisman Studio have received numerous awards and recognition, including Leading Residential Designers in America, Top 50 Design Professionals in North America, and recognition from the design industry and his peers. LaMar serves on a number of advisory boards and is a strong supporter of local business, education and giving back to the community through service, donations and time.

Lisman Studio projects have appeared in numerous publications and the company is consistently recognized as one of the most successful in the State of Utah and the nation. Projects include: Residential, Commercial, Banking, Hospitality, Healthcare, Ecclesiastical, Restaurants, Aircraft, Marine and Tenant Improvements.

Life isn’t about avoiding risks. It’s about making calculations and going all in with the things you love.

- Anonymous

Kimberly Beard is originally from Midway, Utah. She graduated from LDS Business College with an Associate’s degree in interior design. Kim has always had a great interest in design since she was young. At the age of 8 she was busy drawing at night sitting in her bedroom drawing floorplans for houses and businesses. In high school she found herself doodling kitchen elevations on top of her math homework. Upon graduation she headed for a degree in business at Utah State University. However, after spending some time in the business department and then relocating to Salt Lake City she began to come to the conclusion that a professional career in the design industry was where her passion was going to take her.

Kim’s inspiration in her design comes from a variety of sources, nature, architecture and even people. Putting the perfect design with a person’s personality is one of her favorite things to work through in the design process. Understanding that our surroundings can influence our happiness and well being drives Kim to push herself in achieving design that betters the lives of others. A goal of Lisman Studio is to impact our clients through great design and exceptional service. It became quickly evident that Kim was the perfect fit for Lisman Studio and we are grateful to have her as an integral part of our design team.

Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you see can inspire you.

Grace Coddington

Alexis Andersen joined the Lisman team in the fall of 2018. With a broad range of experience working for several prestigious design firms, Lisman Studio was thrilled to have her join our team. Growing up as a dancer and with a background in art, transitioning to interior design seemed like a given. Alexis likes to approach her design aesthetic with a clear and open mind, never trying to force her creativity. She has a wonderful expression, “When people say, think outside the box, I’ve always tried to forget that a box even exists at all.” For Alexis, design is also about emotion; how does it make a client feel? Like many designers, seeing her vision become reality is her favorite part of design. With her broad range of technical skills, and refreshing approach to all things design, Lisman Studio is thrilled to welcome her as part of our growing team. We all look forward to being part of her next design adventure!

Director of Marketing

Don’t argue about how the world is, but rather show them what it could be.

- Christopher reeve

With the increased relevance of Social Media, and as Lisman Studio has continued to have steady growth, the need for a Director of Marketing has become increasingly necessary. Blake Lisman fills this new position perfectly and brings a new dimension to the Lisman Studio team. Blake is a graduate of Utah State University, where his studies emphasized marketing and business. As a liaison with marketing and media for the Salt Lake Comic Con, Blake developed a great ability to coordinate, organize and manage local media sources. With a diverse background in Public Relations and Marketing through social media, Blake feels his insight to our digital lifestyle is valuable as we move into the “Millennial Generation” of design.

As a Lisman, Blake has surprisingly not seen the appeal of working as a design professional in the Interior Design Industry. But he is enthusiastic about being able to access his creative side in areas of Marketing relating to design. He seemed the natural choice for the position when it became available. Someone with a keen understanding of the high standards of Lisman Studio, combined with a passion for studying marketing trends, and campaigns, he fit the Director of Marketing need perfectly. Growing up in the Lisman household, Blake heard more about chairs, tufted sofas, carpet and drafting than most kids combined. It’s fun for him now to actually be part of the company that he grew up hearing about, and feeling like he can make a new and additional impact to a company that was founded before he was born.
