When your name is as cool as Axel Ray, you’ve definitely got to have an awesome “crib” to match. As interior designers, few projects are more fun and inspiring than a nursery. And when the baby’s dad is a celebrity radio DJ, things really start to get interesting. How about a nursey designed around a rock and roll music theme? The trick was how to make the room feel playful and age appropriate for Axel, without making it come off like a Hard Rock Café. The clients felt Belle took on the challenge and pulled it off beautifully. Vintage LP’s in shadow box frames, boom box “cassette” wallpaper, and a roman valance made from guitar pick printed fabric, really make this room sing! A charming book shelf and stuffed animal storage give the room a distinctly kid’s point of view. In addition, Blake Lisman created some clever visual graphics to bring the whole room together, including inspiring quotes from musicians. This will be a room that can grow with Axel for several years, or at least until he decides to start his own rock band!
